Windows 11 Tray Icons Fix

This is a fix for the mess that is the Windows 11 system tray if you have upgraded from an existing Windows 10 install.

1). Open Regedit winkey + R
2). Enter “RegEdit” (Enter)
3). Navigate to “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer”
4). Find key “EnableAutoTray”, type= reg_dword
5). Modify the value from “0” (Show) to “1” (Hide).
6). Exit Regedit, and Open Task Manager.
7). In the “Processes” tab find “Windows Explorer” -> Right Click choose “End Task”

This will re-start Explorer and re-load the system tray using the new Registry setting.

Note: Always backup the registry before editing.
